Pilates Instructors

Pilates - Pilates

Experience the professionalism and expertise of the premier Pilates teacher training facility in the Southeast.

Instructors are taught to focus on the whole person. The goal is to utilize movement to develop the mind, body and spirit simultaneously. They are professional, knowledgeable and highly skilled.

In addition to the Pilates choreography, Body Awareness Studios instructors strive to teach correct body mechanics and movement patterns. Instructors have a keen eye for detail and posses a strong knowledge of anatomy, both used to positively guide students. Our graduates are now teaching at many of the leading centers and health clubs in the region.

Body Awareness Studios instructors are all comprehensively trained in Pilates, with additional movement backgrounds. While constantly updating their knowledge by attending classes, seminars and conferences in the fitness world, instructors are dedicated to meeting the individual needs of each student.

Marisa AntolinoMarisa Joy Antolino is originally from Columbus, Ohio, where she grew up completely absorbed in and enamored with dance. She studied intensively at a young age and trained in the selective pre-professional program with Balletmet Academy, where she was first introduced to the importance of proper body mechanics and the principles of Pilates. A tall girl facing company height restrictions and a realization that sacrifices required of a professional ballerina went with a career that may prove short lived, Marisa allowed her focus to turn to school studies and other activities. Marisa took her first yoga class – which her body loved, but proved to be a great challenge for her anything but quiet mind at the time. Fitness, yoga and dance accompanied courses in exercise and health at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, where she earned a BA concentrated in Communication Studies.

Marisa has since dedicated herself to work and studies in holistic fitness.  Educated in anatomy and physiology, Marisa is also a certified Pilates instructor through Pilates Academy International. She is a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance, and a certified BarSculpt Instructor. Marisa combines a technical knowledge of exercise prescription with a great love for people and an enthusiasm for bringing joy, if only in some small way, into her clients’ lives as they transform their bodies and uplift their spirits through fitness.

After many wonderful years as a studio owner, she has come to Atlanta to take the next step forward in her personal life in combination with her passion for focusing more on the overall well being of each individual client.

A graduate of the University of San Francisco with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Dance and Performing Arts, Michele has extensively studied and understands the mind/body connection. An advocate of wellbeing, Michele coaches her clients toward their goals from an approach of addressing their needs of the mind, body and soul which Michele believes are all necessary aspects to true well being.
